Join us on Saturday, June 16th, at WestWorld in Scottsdale, Arizona to take the challenge and Beat the Heat in an 10.22k/5k Race and Walk.
The Summer Solstice is June 21st. The hottest day ever recorded in the Phoenix Metropolitan area was June 26th, 1990 at 122 degrees.

Registration and the 10k+ race and walk actually covering 10.22 kilometers will begin indoors in North Hall at WestWorld of Scottsdale, home of the famous Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction. Runners will be outside briefly before traveling through the massive tent that is home to the World’s Most Famous Collector Car Event, Barrett-Jackson.Racers will proceed on a course routing through Westworld and around its arenas and barns before entering pathways along the beauty and undulation of the adjacent McDowell Mountain Golf Club, owned in party by legendary PGA Champion, Phil Mickelson. The race for home will take runners through the polo field and will end back inside the air conditioning in the North Hall.
Note: The course traverses a combination of hard packed dirt, asphalt, off-road, concrete paths, golf cart paths and grass.
Scottsdale, Arizona is one of the country’s finest resort communities people come the world over to enjoy, especially in the winter and spring seasons. But visiting in the summer has an unappreciated allure all its own. The scenery such as the McDowell Sonoran Preserve is no less spectacular: pool parties at hotels, bars and restaurants are in full swing and rates at even five-star resorts are affordable. This race will appeal to the adventurous, particularly fit and endurance athletes looking for a unique challenge and unique course in an unforgettable environment.
